Dark Tranquillity

Dark Tranquillity est une formation death metal suédoise. Formé en 1989 à Gothenburg, le groupe signe son premier album Skydancer en 1993. Dark Tranquility se compose alors du chanteur Anders Freiden, des guitaristes Niklas Sundin et Mikael Stanne, du bassiste Martin Hendriksson et du batteur Anders Jivarp. Le line up est modifié pour enregistrer Of chaos and eternal light qui sort en 1995. Anders Freiden quitte le groupe. Mikael Stanne prend en charge le chant et est remplacé à la guitare par Fredik Johansson. Suit l'album The gallery qui fait connaître le groupe en dehors des frontières de la Suède. En 1997, Dark Tranquillity signe l'album The Mind's I puis, deux ans plus tard, Projector qui marque l'arrivée de Martin Brandstorm, devenu membre officiel du groupe. Suivent Haven (2000) et Damage Done (2002).
